about

CCR-026

“100” was recorded sporadically over 4 months, punctuated by inconsistent studio visits. Most of the songs began as melodies or riffs in iPhone voice memos later fleshed out during recording. Tonally, the album relies on simple, straight forward instrumentation and numerous double tracks to create a natural chorus tone. These tones align with the sentiment behind the songs' content and structure: subjective narratives attempting to revisit a psychological space of naivety and simplicity. There is a sort of “first thought, best thought” idealism throughout the album, there usually was not more than one take for each track.

Lyrically, the songs stem from two fields; the first, infantile investigations of purpose that develop into involuted notions of objective truths (embodied by tracks like "desire", "pop", "telesthete"), and the second consisting of reflections on interpersonal relationships (ex. "remnant", "sand", "sister"), both these conceptual schools bridged in tracks like "stain", "ontological moment", & "gain."

The album is bookended by noise to act as a metonomy for internal mental processes of grasping for specific thoughts that buried in indecipherability like a song behind radio static.

In totality, this album wishes to accomplish a subjective truth from a particular epoch of individual experience. It acts as a signifier for a singular narrative, with hope that others who are wading through similar existential discontent find solace for the duration the record.

besos xoxo
