so totally is a four piece band from philadelphia, pennsylvania. the band consists of roya weidman (vocals/guitar), matt arbiz (vocals/guitar), ryan wildsmith (bass), and joe mclaughlin (drums). their sound aims to combine roya's background in doomy-folk bedroom recordings with the heavier fuzz rock influences of other members. formed originally as a three piece in the winter of 2015, the band quickly began to play shows locally, drawing out friends from all corners of the philadelphia music scene. After their first headlining gig, a night full of faulty equipment and a terrible cover of the Pixies' Monkey Gone to Heaven, they realized that they needed a second guitar to achieve the wall-of-sound they desired. After bringing in another member and juggling instrument roles, their debut ep "a cheap close-up of heaven" was the creative result. The ep was recorded independently between July and November of 2016 in roya and matt's apartment. The band's full name 'so totally in love' refers to the exaggerative mentality of attraction (think somewhere between intrigue and infatuation)
