The Atlanta-based band Kibi James, taps our ears with their debut EP, Azúcar. And with Azúcar, time is transmuted into sound. Kibi James leans on fluid camaraderie to create and their shared experiences to relate. The group interchangeably harmonizes, thanks in part to their long-standing friendship.

Kibi James achieves an artistic fluidity that spans both language and genre. Azúcar, aptly named after the group's summer spent in sweet yet sticky California, breaks tradition with siren-like vocals in both english and spanish, tropical guitar riffs and warm basslines. When we have to categorize Kibi James’ music, we should continue to look to the future and their ever evolving sound
