Blue Cabinet is the sophomore album from Nashville based Bats, the solo project of 23 year-old Jess Awh. Bats combines Awh's influences from both the country music community and the DIY community in Nashville to present a unique blend of live band alt-country, indie rock, and brittle indie folk. Running just over 35 minutes but ensnaring the listener with introspective lyrical storytelling and complex sonic arrangements, Blue Cabinet deals in themes of addiction and isolation, newly minted relationships as well as old ones that are decaying.
