about

CCR078

True Blossom is a Pop band first and last. Their music draws a line from the studio formalism of ‘70s pop titans like Fleetwood Mac, through the sophisti-pop and Madonna clones of the mid 80s, up to Yo La Tengo and Stereolab, and drags all that melody and brightness through the unfinished basements and beer-light bars of the American DIY underground.

Guitarist Chandler Kelley and singer Sophie Cox grew up on the east side of Atlanta, just a few miles apart, and first recorded some songs together in high school. In 2017, they found the rest of their collaborators spread out through the thriving Atlanta pop scene: drummer Adam Weisberg (Twin Studies), bassist Nadav Flax (Bitter), and synth player Jamison Murphy (Pop Weirdos).

Their songwriting spark was immediate: the five started writing in May and were tracking their first full-length, Heater, by the end of the year. Later, they travelled to New York to mix with Chris Daly at Salvation Recording Co. They’re currently planning their first tour, and writing material for their next album.
